June Slice Updates: Saying Goodbye....

HEY guys! I really enjoyed getting to do a life roundup post for you guys last month, so I’m bringing it back this month. It’s perfect timing really, as I have a LOT of things to share with you guys right now! Some quick hits are:

First up, I will be working with my first brand ever this month, MantraBands. They create jewelry engraved with special sayings, or “mantras,” and I received three bracelets with different sayings. This was not the first brand to ever reach out to me about collaborating, but it was the first one to reach out with a product that I believe in and would wear organically. I can’t wait to show you all how I styled them and what each of the messages means to me!

Next up, I will be moving out of my apartment at the end of this month as my lease is up and the owners of my unit are planning to sell it. Moving is pretty much the worst thing I ever have to do, every year, and this year is proving to be no different. I most certainly do have movers coming to pack everything away in two days time, and most certainly do not have anything packed yet for it. Just wish me luck and be patient with me during this time, y’all.

And FINALLY, piggybacking off of the news of moving out of my current apartment, it feels so weird to be writing this to share with you all, but I am moving out of Chicago! This decision is a result of many many months of thought and effort and work, and so I’m SO excited and proud to be sharing this with you guys… Chicago has been absolutely incredible to me, I’ve met people near and dear to my heart (including Joe who deserves all the special shoutouts in the world), made friendships that will last a lifetime, and made memories I can’t even imagine topping. But, it’s time for me to move on to my next phase, in the city of Angels!! (Do people in LA actually say city of angels??! Will have to figure that out…)

Anyways, some details I can share now (there are very few finalized at this point): I am moving in the last week of August, will be transferring with my job so no need for a cross-country job hunt (TG), and YES Joe is coming with me! At least….that’s the plan, but like I said, A LOT up in the air.

Anyways, this is news I am SO excited to share with you people and so so appreciate your love and support of Slice of Safiya up until this point. Really can’t wait to share this journey with you all (would you watch a vlog of my cross country road trip with Joe? Asking for a friend…)

Until then, onwards and…westward?? Have to work on that bit.
